A 15 year old from Swindon has become the youngest person in Europe to be fitted with bionic fingers. Chloe Holmes lost all her fingers to septicaemia as a toddler, and has never been able to pick things up for herself. but since fitting her left had with a full set of bionice digits – controlled by electronic signals from nerve endings – she has begun learning basic tasks such as brushing her teeth and using a knife and fork for the first time. Chloe’s parents, Sue and Pete, said the £38,000 device – made by Scottish company Touch Bionics – had “completely changed her life”.
