The CALCiViS Imaging System (CIS) aims to be the world’s first biotechnology-based dental imaging system, focused on revolutionising the management of tooth decay. After delivering an application of CALCiViS photoprotein, CIS enables dentists and their patients to see active demineralisation ‘live’ as it is happening on a tooth surface. For the first time, this allows sight of how a lesion is progressing and can be used to determine what treatment is required. It can also demonstrate treatment success and that a cavity has been prevented.
